Office Assistant Job Description

Reports To: Lead Pastor
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Thursday
Rate: $18-22 DOE

Summary of Duties
Assist in the office with general administrative needs and communications, and assist the Lead Pastor in fostering a positive and effective organization to fulfill the church's mission.
Essential Functions Managed and Executed Personally or through Volunteers

Communication
  • Manage church database.
  • Process all Connection Cards and assign others for follow-up.
  • Edit and send weekly church emails. 
  • Specific editing and communication needs from Lead Pastor.

Publications
  • Edit, layout, and print the weekly Listening Guide (LG) before Saturday.
  • Social media for all platforms (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Write and post content and events on the website.
  • Edit, print, and upload other publications on a seasonal basis.

General
  • Check voicemail and general church emails/social media messages throughout the weekdays.
  • US post mail is checked at the beginning and end of the week. 
  • Ensure office supplies are stocked and manage any maintenance and repair of printer equipment. 
  • Attend monthly church staff meetings for communication and collaboration. 
  • Connect with Lead Pastor weekly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Experience or education in an administrative support role.
  • Excellent editing skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS/Google suites, social media platforms, and web management. 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Some publications experience is helpful. 
  • Proactive and communicative is a must.
